French Press: how to use it

  1. How to use the French Press

  2. THE SECRETS OF THE FRENCH PRESS

In the French Press the coffee is left on the bottom. This means that the coffee’s essential oils
are mixed in the water, rather than trapped by the filter.
This gives a stronger, denser and spicier coffee.

  3. WHAT TYPE OF COFFEE SHOULD I USE?

If you want a coffee with a lot of caffeine, choose one that is lightly roasted: the lighter the bean,
the less it has been roasted, and so the greater the quantity of natural caffeine.

Longer roastings give beans a deeper and fuller flavour. Light roastings are less bitter and
    have a sweeter aftertaste.

The grind must be medium: this stops the powder clogging the filter and allows for smooth
action. This means that the coffee powder can be absorbed into the liquid.

  4. READY IN A FEW STEPS

Boil the water in a kettle or separate pan.

Before adding the coffee powder, preheat the pot.

    Add 30g (1oz) of .

Pour 250ml (8fl oz) of hot water into the pot and wait 30 seconds for preinfusion.

Mix and cover with the plunger / filter for 3 or 4 minutes.

Immerse the plunger and push down slowly to separate the solid part from the water.

  5. NOT JUST COFFEE

You can also use the French Press to prepare tea, barley coffee and try to make coffee with
    the cold brew method.

  6. So all you have to do now is find the coffee roast that suits you, USE YOUR FRENCH PRESS
AND ENJOY A MUG OF HOT COFFEE.
