Reciprocal inspiration waiting to be discovered

Each year, with each new calendar, Lavazza collaborates with a prestigious and respected photographer, a process that both affirms and renews its image. This annual ritual on the one hand confirms the company’s sure and unmistakable style and on the other hand helps it stay in step with the times — even a step ahead. The Lavazza spirit has inspired powerful, glamorous,

and unconventional images: in a word, memorable. Important names — those of the masters of international photography — have all taken turns behind the camera: Helmut Newton, Ellen von Unwerth, Ferdinando Scianna, Albert Watson, Marino Parisotto, Elliot Erwitt, David LaChapelle and many others. Learn more about them in the short biographies in this section.

Joseph Anthony Lawrence - His Lavazza calendar: 2016
Joseph Anthony Lawrence His Lavazza calendar: 2016

Joseph Anthony Lawrence, best known as Joey L., is the young photographer behind the 2016 Lavazza Calendar.

Born in 1989 in Ontario, Canada, he lives and works today in New York, the favourite theatre for his photographic portrayals. “Halloween in Brooklyn” is his personal project dedicated to the masked characters who entertain that district in the Big Apple during this festivity, offering the audience a completely personal glimpse of the city’s soul.

His own curiosity for different ways of living has brought him to new and unfamiliar territories — from the holy lands of Varanasi, India, to Southern Ethiopia, the Kurdish regions of Iraq and Syria — making him one of the most requested photographers.
